Water Lily

We visited my parents in Santa Barbara over the weekend and I am only now getting around to looking at the photos I took. I had fun walking around in my mom's reflection pond, wearing her hip waders to get closer to the water lilies. When I was growing up and my grandparents were still living in this house (where my mom grew up), the pond was a dark, murky mess. When my parents moved in several years ago, my mom cleaned it out and planted water lilies and a lotus. Now it's a tranquil, reflective spot in the garden, admired by everyone who wanders by.

When was the last time you spent a quiet moment just doing nothing - just sitting and looking at the sea, or watching the wind blowing the tree limbs, or waves rippling on a pond, a flickering candle or children playing in the park?

  2. Since you already had the waders on, hope you took time to do some cleanup for her.LOL I will have a small pond when I am ready to give up RVing and boating. Away too often to really care for one. I love the wildlife they draw.

  4. I know keeping a pond is a lot of work but what a great opportunity for photos. And I see you took advantage of that. Nice picture.
