I meant to do my work to-day —
But a brown bird sang in the apple-tree,
And a butterfly flitted across the field,
And all the leaves were calling me.
And the wind went sighing over the land,
Tossing the grasses to and fro,
And a rainbow held out its shining hand —
So what could I do but laugh and go?

Nice shots Leslie. Are these from this year?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gary. Yes, both were taken on February 17. So I wasn't actually out gallivanting with my camera yesterday as the poem suggests, but I was playing with photos instead of finishing the newsletter I was supposed to be working on!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous flowers, looks like spring is here. I enjoyed the poem too!
