A Fair Day

Today we got to play! We spent a few hours exploring our favorite parts of the Orange County Fair. Namely the animals, photography, art, and gardens.

I do not at all claim to be an animal photographer, but I have put some of my photos into a slideshow for those of you who might enjoy them too. Warning: I have a particular attachment to goats. Especially pygmy goats. I guess it's because I'm a Capricorn. Anyway, you've been warned...

If you’re short of trouble, take a goat.

  1. Really enjoyed your slideshow. I didn't realize I was so fond of goats, but they look fantastic in your images. Maybe it's the shape of their ears that I like.

  2. Yes, there's just something about them that's endearing. They're goofy, curious, friendly. One of my earliest childhood memories is being at a petting zoo with one nibbling on my sweater.

  5. Thank you for the compliment, but I have to give full credit to the snoozing bunnies - they were so nice and still for the camera, except for that one nose twitching!

  9. I love goats, I used to have 2 when I was growing up. I really like sweetness of the Nubian, but also see what you mean with the pygmy...So cute!
I think next year will be the year we are getting some Angora goats, their fleece is amazing for spinning yarn.

  10. Yes, there were also Angoras at the fair and their coats are beautiful. Look forward to hearing if you get some.
